About the Project

For the young people in Selbu, the Stokkfjellet wind farm is a popular place to work. For the municipality, the wind farm is a source of significant income that benefits the local community.

Selbu, which is located about an hour's drive southeast of Trondheim, is today best known for its beautiful Selbu rose, which adorns both the municipal coat of arms and countless knitted mittens across Norway and around the world.

What is not as well-known is that the Trøndelag municipality, with its approximately 4,200 inhabitants, is on its way to becoming a major energy municipality.

Renewable energy course at Selbu High School from autumn 2025

In collaboration with Statkraft and the vocational training program in Trøndelag county, we at Selbu High School have established an offering for those who wish to further specialize in the water, wind, and solar power industries. This provides opportunities for increased expertise in a forward-looking and crucial field in a region where such skills are needed.
