Roan Wind Farm is the second largest wind farm in Fosen, where we find some of the best wind resources in Europe. The power plant was the country's largest wind power plant when it was commissioned in 2019.

About the Project

The construction of the power plant began in 2016. The power plant is located on the mountain plateaus east of the municipal center in Roan. Einarsdalen runs through the power plant, dividing the development area into two. The wind turbines are of the type Vestas V117, which have a tower height of 87 meters and a maximum output of 3.6 MW.

The wind farm is owned by Aneo Roan Wind Holding with 60% and Nordic Wind Power with 40%. Aneo Wind Holding is owned 51% by Aneo and 49% by Stadtwerke München. Nordic Wind Power is owned 50% by EIP (Energy Infrastructure Partners AG) and 50% by BKW (as of 2023) which is owned by Aneo. The park is operated by Aneo.
