Henja Solar Plant

in operation

Sweden's first large-scale solar plant on forest land

Henja, Gislaved

Henja Solar Plant began started to produce energy in March 2022, but the official opening took place on June 11. The solar plant is among Sweden's largest ground-mounted solar power plants and was developed and built in collaboration with the Swedish development company Sunna Group, in which Aneo acquired a stake in September 2022.

About the Project

Henja solar plant is the largest of its kind in Sweden without fencing. Executive Director Kari Skeidsvoll Moe praises the developer Sunna Group and believes Henja is a good example of sustainable renewable energy development – partly because the park is located in a fire-damaged area.

At Aneo, we work proactively towards the most considerate development of new renewable power production. In Gislaved, natural re-vegetation will be monitored in the coming years, providing valuable knowledge for further solar power development. Additionally, the solar panels are installed without fencing, making the solar park accessible for both animals and people.

“We have realized this project in record time. From the start of project development to the commissioning of the plant, it took only two years, thanks to our competent partners at Sunna Group and a highly time-efficient process for licensing and grid connection. Now we hope to see the same progress in Norway, where the need for new renewable power production is equally as high as in Sweden.”
