With extensive leadership experience in the oil and gas industry, the service sector, and aquaculture, Therese Log Bergjord now assumes the position of the new chair of Aneo, succeeding Terje Eidesmo.
Bergjord is from Madla in Stavanger and most recently held the position of CEO for Skretting's global operations (2017–2024), a world-leading company in fish and shrimp feed, as well as being a part of the executive management of the parent company Nutreco. She also has extensive board experience and is now looking forward to her new role in an important period for Aneo.
— I had a great time at Skretting, but felt that now was the time to do something new. I will now focus on a few companies, and Aneo is one of them. This is an organization that is, and will be, an important part of the climate transition that our society must go through and I look forward to working with Gunnar Hovland and his team, as well as the rest of the board towards achieving that.
Bergjord officially took office on November 1 and will lead her first board meeting on November 14. Aneo is owned 50 percent by TrønderEnergi and their owners, and 50 percent by HitecVision.
We wanted a chairperson with relevant top executive experience from both the energy sector and other internationally competitive industries. Therese Log Bergjord has results and experience from both energy and aquaculture - and she will bring an industrial perspective that is needed, says Ståle Gjersvold, CEO of TrønderEnergi.
HitecVision also views the choice positively:
— We are very pleased with the choice of Bergjord as the new chairperson. She has a broad range of leadership and board experience that will be valuable for Aneo's growth and development in the coming years, says Jon Vatnaland, senior partner at HitecVision.
Bergjord herself highlights Aneo's unique competitive advantages in the market as a decisive factor, also influencing her decision to accept the role as chairperson in the renewable energy group:
— I have immense respect for professional communities – for people who are knowledgeable. Aneo has plenty of that, and we have a unique and interesting ownership model that enables great ambitions in renewable energy. I believe that combination is almost unbeatable, says the new chairperson who also emphasizes the importance of success.
— Right now, the crucial energy transition is happening too slowly when we actually depend on high speed. We need to drive that forward. Fortunately, I believe we have the right people and conditions to be that very player, concludes Bergjord.
