The board of the Nordic renewable company Aneo has appointed Olav Sem Austmo as the group CEO effective from Wednesday, March 15.
Since 2009, Sem Austmo has been employed at TrønderEnergi/Aneo and has served as the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 2012. He is 59 years old, originally from Steinkjer, and now resides in Trondheim, where Aneo has its headquarters.
- I am motivated to continue the work that Ståle Gjersvold has done over the past 11 years until we at Aneo appoint a new CEO. Ståle and I have worked closely throughout his tenure, and I am very familiar with the people, strategy, and culture at Aneo. I look forward to contributing to Aneo’s further development, says Sem Austmo.
Gjersvold joins the board
The Nordic renewable energy company Aneo was established in the fall of 2022 by TrønderEnergi and HitecVision.
Until today, Ståle Gjersvold has been the CEO of both Aneo and TrønderEnergi. In the fall of 2022, Gjersvold announced his desire to continue as CEO of TrønderEnergi and to continue supporting Aneo through his role as an owner. Gjersvold now joins the board of Aneo as TrønderEnergi's representative.
- I look forward to focusing on managing our ownership in Aneo. Aneo is, and will become, an even more important company for the Nordic energy transition. Aneo has great growth potential, and the task now is to ensure that the company delivers on the ambitions communicated at its founding. Olav and I have worked closely for many years, and I am confident that he will do a very good job as interim CEO, says Gjersvold.
The leadership process is still ongoing
Terje Eidesmo, Chairman of the Board in Aneo, comments on the appointment of Sem Austmo:
- We in the board know Olav well and have full confidence that he and the other competent individuals at Aneo will continue the good work until a permanent CEO is in place. Meanwhile, we would like to thank Ståle Gjersvold for his pioneering work in establishing a powerful new renewable energy group. I look forward to working with Gjersvold, as the representative of one of the two major owners, on the board at Aneo, says Eidesmo.
Chairman Odd Inge Mjøen of TrønderEnergi is very pleased that Gjersvold will now devote all his time to TrønderEnergi and managing the ownership in Aneo.
- It has long been clear that Ståle, at his own request, will continue as CEO of TrønderEnergi. For us at TrønderEnergi, the ownership stake in Aneo is crucial for our shared goal of contributing to making the necessary energy transition profitable for our customers and owners. Ståle will provide a significant contribution to this through his board position in Aneo, says Mjøen.
The recruitment process for a new CEO at Aneo is still ongoing.
