Aneo strengthens its focus in Sweden through a new partnership involving physical power trading and optimization with Fred. Olsen Renewables.

Since its establishment in the autumn of 2022, Aneo has truly become a Nordic market player, with activities in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. We are now increasing our market share in Sweden with a new portfolio of wind farms.

— On behalf of Fred. Olsen Renewables, Aneo will manage control, optimization, and physical power trading for the Högaliden and Fäboliden wind farms, stages 1 and 2. This is a new and significant partnership for Aneo as a Nordic renewable player, and for the Energy Management unit, says Hilde Landsem, Director of Energy Management at Aneo.

The Swedish wind portfolio is located in the municipalities of Umeå and Vindeln in Västerbottens län. The wind power plants have a total installed capacity of 203.9 MW and expected annual production of approximately 660 GWh.

The most modern production center in the Nordics.

The wind power plants will be controlled from Aneo's round-the-clock production center in Berkåk, Central Norway, which is one of the most modern of its kind in the Nordics.

— We are always on duty to manage and monitor energy production and facilities in hydropower and wind power throughout the year. We are also preparing to incorporate solar and battery parks in the future. Aneo is a balance responsible player and the contact with the Transmission System Operator (TSO) on behalf of our customers, providing them access to participate in the various electricity markets. We ensure that our customers get the most out of their power, says Ingebrigt Grut, Head of the Production Center at Aneo.

AI-driven development of forecasting models

Aneo's digital platform, and not least professional expertise, is built for growth in the Nordics. With advanced models and automated solutions, Aneo can actively participate in the various power markets. A significant contributor to Aneo's technology and expertise in Central Norway is Aneo's internal AI department. Here, Aneo's own forecasting models and algorithms for the optimization of physical trading are developed.

— Fred. Olsen Renewables is a solid industrial partner with substantial expertise and growth ambitions in the Nordic and European power market. We are excited to start and have great confidence that we can realize common goals and contribute to the green transition together, says Hilde Landsem, Aneo

Fred. Olsen Renewables also looks at the collaboration with optimism:

— Aneo's expertise and experience in the power market make them an ideal partner for us, and we look forward to working together to ensure the optimal utilization of our Swedish wind power plants, says Carl Axel Wiborg, Head of Market & Analysis at Fred. Olsen Renewables.
